Cool Technology and Other Stuff

Quick Update...In case you are still wondering we are still working on the slide show. Trey has been in charge of pics and he had so many to go through. He has done a ton of work so far. That is going to be a priority this weekend! On to other business we are still working on the bathroom. Going on day 5 today and still counting. It will be at least tomorrow evening before we can put the actual paint color on. Last night I put on primer and tonight I painted the ceiling. Here is a picture to show the progress.

As most of you know I work for Sci-Quest, which is a non profit hands on science museum and you can check us out at http://www.sci-quest.org/ if you are really that interested in who we are and want to know more. Twice a year we have new exhibits come in and out of the museum and I must say that I do not love all of them. Some are really lame! I know I should not say that but it is the truth so there. The good part is that the one that was not that great left on Jan 6th and today our new one started going up. It opens on Jan 26th and it is called PlayMotion. It is some cool stuff!! You can check it out online at http://www.playmotion.com/ and get the general idea of what it is. We have twelve titles (tennis, soccer, pool air hockey etc..)and two humogo screens. Today we went to test it out for a short break and there was one up with pool balls. Basically you use your shadows to make the balls move around the table and bump into each other. We also tested out the one that simulates playing air hockey with your shadow. It is neat and if you have been to McWane Center in B'ham or Adventure Science Center in Nashville you have already seen this. Just thought I would share this neat exhibit.

On to my next subject...painting. I know I have been over wallpaper but painting is just as bad. I think of myself as a hot mess when it comes to painting. A hot mess is a slang term for basically a disaster, train wreck etc. You get the point and if you had seen me painting you would fully agree. Tonight before I even started painting I had paint on my shirt and hands just from trying to get the lid off. Then as I was painting around the new light fixture I dripped wads of paint on the new fixture and panicked and so I put the roller down on the counter not on anything. Then I jerked it up realizing it was making an even bigger mess on the counter and meanwhile the paint is still hanging from the fixture. From there I proceeded to grab the wipe cloth with one hand and the roller in the other an dropped the wipe cloth in the paint bucket. Whew!!!! I mean what else could I have done? I am ready to be finished. I have sucessfully painted the ceiling and am in one piece. Last night I did something simialar with the primer. I stopped up the sink with primer and water and the sink has to come out tomorrow. Oops!! So glad Trey knows I am awful at this kind of thing ;) I think I get progressively worse with each project we take on.
