Wanna Know.....How We Spent Friday?

If you guessed at my job......you are right! I had a pretty big event that I was in charge of Friday night. It is our Parents Night Out Event that we do every so often. The program has grown so much since we have started putting more into it as far as advertising and adding programming. We have gone from having 15 a time to having 55 to 65 at at time with more people trying to register the day of and being mad that they can't !! It is great..........but it also means we have to figure out about having more people there. We always estimate one adult per 10 children but like to have 1 per 5 (especially when we have 22 4-5 yr olds). I had some volunteers wrangled up and some staff folks and they were sick. I had to call in reinforcements!!!

What does Trey do........he agrees to come with me ;) I have a great husband that certainly goes beyond the call of duty. I was a floater between the 4-5 yr old group and Trey and a volunteer from UAH had 22 6-9 yr olds. I have to say that they did a fantastic job!!! They both had never done this event before and by the end of the night they both had won the affection of all the kids in their group. I think the rousing game of red light green light sealed the deal at the end. I don't think any of the kids wanted to leave!!!

It went well (so much better than last time). I think we have this down to a fine art now and are going to start accepting in the hundreds as we go along and we had so many requests for us to make this MONTHLY!!!! That is super scary to me but that is just me over worrying. I think I have all the fine details worked out now to accomodate the growth so we will see where we go from here!

We spent our Friday night knee deep in munchkins, chip bag wrappers, cool aid boxes and bags of slime that we made! What a night............
