So, last week for me was filled with so much work from Tuesday to Saturday morning that I barely had time to think. This week it has calmed down if only momentarily and has started off pretty good so far and with much less drama and scariness than last week if you read the post I did on Thursday. Friday went great and together we handled the massive amounts of Kindergartners (300 or so) and and the press conference with ease. After that I came home to get some house work done before returning to real work again at 9:30 pm to do another overnight. This time it was all good though because I purchased the mac daddy of all air beds ;) HeHe!! I got the go ahead to purchase two better beds since we were basically sleeping on the floor. They should have known. I was given a price limit and went right to the edge and peeked over a few dollars. I felt it necessary for a queen size double tall flocked air bed. Yes, they are the stuff!!! Sounds kind of like I purchased some super giant cups of coffee to swim in ;) This was so exciting because we never get to spend money on anything like that for work. Lets not forget that I do work for a non profit so we usually kind of just make do with what we have. So it kinda made my whole week better in one quick swoop. Ahhhh.....
This week I am on to more important business such as figuring out how to make homemade ice cream. I am one of the people in charge of organizing an ice cream social at church as a fundraiser for Relay for Life. A group from our class usually participates in the walk and does a fundraiser. The fundraiser is this Wednesday night after church. This brings me to my next point of how does one go about making such a thing called homemade ice cream. I am completely tempted to go to the store and buy it already done but I did say I would try and also openly encouraged others to make homemade so it would look bad on my part to bring store bought. I guess that I will go online find a good recipe unless anyone has one the would like to offer and see how it goes tomorrow when I try and make it. I feel a test run is in order before I feed it to the general public.
Wish me luck!

Girl, I just got the recipe from Tori for homemade chocolate Ice Cream soo...We can learn together!! I was told it was best to make it the day of because when you freeze it changes the texture sooo...I was thinking of arriving early setting up camp and bringing dinner and hope that it will be ready before everything begins...I think I will do a trial run tonight...we shall see!! Let me know what I can do to help!! ;)
I'm happy to test out any homemade ice cream anybody has. You know, cause I'm a servant like that.
If you figure it out, I might need a lesson from you. It's sad to say that we've been married for 5 years and we do have an ice cream freezer, but I have NEVER used it. I'm ashamed to admit that! I think I might need to learn now that I have kids. Ha, ha! I won't think bad of you if you get store bought. :)
This may be too late for your church event, but our favorite ice cream we homemake. It tastes just like a Wendy's Frosty...that is if you are into those kind of things.. ; )
Here it is:
Put in the icecream holder part of your maker:
1 tub cool whip
1/2 gal. chocolate milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
it is so yummy...you will love it and it is easy. you don't even have to mix it all together. just dump it in!
That sounds like a recipe I can definately be good with. Thanks so much!!
