Molten Hot Lava Bomb

This title just makes me laugh out loud;) If you watch American Idol you know that Randy Jackson used that description for someone's performance on the show Tuesday night. I thought it appropriate for the content of this post.

Ever since we bought this house we have feared one thing which is the second level air conditioning unit. It is the original with the house meaning it is 15 or so years old. It has had a good run but is fading fast. We thought we would try one last time to make sure it was definately not working. We turned on the air yesterday and left it on from about 3:30 pm till we arrived home from church about 9:45 pm. Upon arrival we slowly walked up the steps in anticipation and we had the worst blast of hot air ever. It must have been 90 degrees up there (for serious). There and then our suspicions were sadly confirmed. We promptly opened every window in the upstairs and called all fans to action. We finally cooled off around midnight or so.

So......tomorrow we have two people coming to give quotes on a new upstairs unit which we are not looking forward to but it is a necessary evil. I think that I told Trey at least 20 times yesterday that I was hot. Sometimes it came out and I did not even mean to say it. I am of the belief that if I am going to be that hot I better be getting a tan while doing so. We will see how the estimates turn out but we could have a new unit in the next few weeks. Yipee!!!!!!!

The ice cream social we had a church to benefit our Relay for Life team raised a little over $1200.00 or so. We are all really excited and pleased with how everything turned out ;)

I feel for you on the A/C unit. Ours went out a couple of years ago and it was horrible. I think that both kids were down to diapers with the biggest red faced cheeks when the repair man came. I hope that you get a good price on a unit. We were really pleased with the company that replaced ours. I looked at 3 different places and theirs was the cheapest and fastest. I got a call the other day from the home warranty place warning me about the possibility of our unit going out. She said that it sure would be nice to only have to pay a service fee. It made me laugh thinking back to us talking about it awhile back.

Yeah for the money raised!!! When is the walk? Can you still join in? I'm glad that everything went really well. I would have loved to have stayed, but seeing as how I was flying solo, I thought it best that I not bring my 3 kiddies past their bedtime. :)

sunny, what company did you use? we too had the home warranty company tell us the garbage about "only paying the service fee" however, they don't tell you that the unit nearly has to explode before they will replace it! seriously, we hae needed a unit for almost 2 years and the ins compny just keeps temporarily fixing it while wee keep paying annual premiums! anyway....sorry for the soapbox!

We ended up using All Season's One Hour. Their phone number is 722-9707. We were very pleased (well, as pleased as you can be when paying that kind of money). About the warranty company - we've told them about 3 times now that we are not interested. Each and every time they tell me that they WILL call back and give us a "grace period". I'm just wondering when they will actually listen to my "NO". These people are so hard to get off of the phone with! It is absolutely crazy!

We would love to come to the walk, but we will be getting ready for Jason's graduation. I really hope that you all have a great turn out.

I am so sorry! I hate spending money on things like that. It is so frustrating! Maybe you can find someone that will do it for cheap.

Glad to hear the ice cream social went so well! Sorry I missed it. I think Corey was there for a while but I was just too tired to hang out that night. I'm glad it was so successful!
