Well, we had quite the eventful afternoon yesterday. Our toilet in the master bathroom overflowed and we did not know about it for about 15 minutes. When we got to the water it was cleaned up in about 15 minutes but apparently that was long enough to do some damage. Trey came down to grab something from the garage and realized that water was coming through the kitchen ceiling in two spots! We grabbed some buckets and cut the lights off since the water was coming through an actual light fixture and through the kitchen fan.
We called ServPro immediately and they came about 2 hours later. They were all out of equipment from all of the flooding that came with all the rain we have had. During those two hours we watched the water spots form on the kitchen ceiling and were still not thinking that it would be a big deal.
By the time they left around 7 pm they suggested that the bathroom floor come up, that we need an entirely new kitchen ceiling and they also said somehow water seeped under all the hardwoods downstairs. So.......there is potentially alot that will happen but we are waiting to see right now. I called the insurance company this morning and they have put the info in for the adjustor to come so now we WAIT and SEE. It is up to the adjustor to set the schedule as to when he can get here.
At least we have a good attitude about it and we have insurance so yay!! It is just stuff and it can be fixed so it is nothing we should fret over because that will do us no good at all. I am sure we might get frustrated with the mess at some point but it is only temporary and we are lucky that it was not worse than it was.
Stay tuned........ and have a great Monday!

Guys, I hate that you had to deal with that yesterday (as well as the upcoming weeks). Hopefully, it won't be too bad and your house will be back to normal in no time. Hang in there!!
I'm so sorry to hear about all of this. I can only imagine! If there is anything that we can do at all, please let us know.
Oh me...so sorry, girl! What a great way to start your week. You're right...it's just stuff, though, that can be fixed. It's better that it happens now, too, before you have kids. That would be even worse if you had kiddos running around with all of that. That probably doesn't make you feel better...sorry. Hang in there!
yuck!
