Today we had a big milestone dr. appt. A month ago we were told we would not make it this far and were even told that weekly for a while. Well, here we are........bigger, more uncomfortable, with alot more reflux and all the other lovely things that are bothersome in the last few weeks.
I had all of my labs retested today and I am still right where I was basically. Proteins went up about 10 points from last week but still not enough for me to have preeclampsia. My body has just decided to tow the line which is good and bad (but mostly good). This whole process has been emotionally draining thinking you are going to have a preemie and then the next thing you know you are going to go to 39 weeks. Just a huge roller coaster of a ride but at the end of the day we must count our blessings and trust me I do realize what a blessing it is he did not come when they thought.
Cooper weighed 6 pds 14 oz according to the ultrasound so he WILL be big when he arrives at 39 weeks. He looks great on all of the non stress tests I have been having. Dr. Callison said at this point we will still go twice a week for monitoring but unless my blood pressure reads high EVERY single time I go or anything else symptom wise gets really funky we will be making it to the end of 38 weeks. Meaning we set a c-section date for August 10th at 12:30 in the afternoon.
It really is bittersweet because we had almost talked ourselves into thinking it would be much sooner based on previous appointments and such but Dr. Callison is doing what is best for Cooper. Fortunately, she has no emotianal investment in this like us who are pretty much over being pregnant. She is being rational and medically sound by holding off as long as she can even though he has had steriod shots. I am glad that we have such an attentive doctor that has really watched over us so closely.
